Update 17 August 2021 – The Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) public holiday has officially been moved to Friday, October 29, 2021 for Brisbane, Moreton Bay and Scenic Rim areas. The government hopes by creating a long weekend it will help boost local hospitality and tourism businesses. This year the holiday is now called the “People’s long weekend”
